How to Connect to a Windows VPS from macOS?
Connecting a VPS on Windows via Mac OS
📥 Step 1: Install Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Open the App Storeon your Mac.
- Search for “Microsoft Remote Desktop“.
- Click “Install” and wait for the installation to complete.
💻 Step 2: Configure the VPS Connection
- Launch Microsoft Remote Desktop.
- Click the +button → select Add PC/Desktop.
- In the PC name field, enter the VPS IP address or domain.
- In the User account field:
– Select “Add User Account” or “Ask when required“.
– Username: (enter the provided username).
– Password: (enter the provided password).
– Click Add. - (Optional) In the Friendly name field — give your connection a convenient name (e.g., “VPS ServerUA“).
🌐 Step 3: Connection
- Double-click the created connection in the list.
- After a few seconds, the Windows session window will open.
- On the first launch, you may see a certificate warning — click Continue.

You are now connected to your Windows-based VPS and can work even on the night shift.
🛠 Tips:
- If the connection does not work:
– Check that the IP, username, and password are correct.
– Try restarting Microsoft Remote Desktop.
– Make sure the VPS is powered on. - If you experience delays or “lag,” try lowering the resolution in the connection settings.
