Improving Image Clarity on Windows VPS

1. Set the correct screen resolution

Right-click on the desktop → Display settings.

In the Display resolution field, select 1920×1080 or higher.

Confirm the changes by clicking Keep changes.

2. Enable maximum color depth

Go to Start → Settings → System → Display → Advanced display settings.

Under Colors, choose Highest (32-bit) to ensure accurate color rendering.

3. Enable the best visual effects

Press Win + R, type sysdm.cpl, and press Enter.

Go to Advanced → Performance → Settings.

Select Adjust for best appearance, or manually enable:

  • Smooth edges of screen fonts
  • Show thumbnails instead of icons
  • Enable desktop composition

4. If the image is still blurry or low quality

🧩 Try another RDP client:

  • Remote Desktop App (Microsoft Store)
  • Royal TSX

🌐 Check your VPS network speed if the image appears pixelated or laggy.

⚙️ For advanced users:

You can improve image quality via the Windows Registry:

Open:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp

Find the ColorDepth parameter and set its value to 4, which corresponds to 32-bit color depth.

These steps will help you achieve sharper, richer visuals on your Windows VPS and improve your RDP experience.
